Thanks for the chuckles. When the truckers protested covid lockdowns in Ottawa, they brought campers, coolers, hot tubs and sound systems. Though their efforts were misguided, (in my opinion) they came prepared to cripple Canada's capital city and turn their protest into a huge party.

Anyhow, my personal routine; read the news, read substack, write something in frustration, sigh deeply in discontent and either nap or roll a spliff. Wake up and repeat the cycle. Cheers.

Misguided yeah, but initially they were at least having fun. Albeit less fun for the people who lived there and had to listen to their sound systems and horns 😆

Your routine sounds pretty good, lather rinse repeat.

A good list of diversionary activities to reduce our panic about the “democrapocalypse.”

I love that word. With your permission I’m like to begin using it in conversation and hope it entrenches itself into the national vocabulary.

Let's spread that word around!

Millennial here. First of all, thank you. Second, "fuckitol" instantly transported my brain back to Robin Williams' Live on Broadway show, which incidentally also contains a wonderful bit on the mistranslation of 72 virgins vs. 72 raisins. The next 2 hours will now be spent replaying random RW standup bits in my head. What hostile takeover? *disassociates harder*

You clearly understood the assignment Courtney haha.

I'm resisting the urge to start playing Robin William's clips.

At the risk of sounding like an enabler, why resist? Just give in to the Robin Williams rabbit hole of joy your brain wants to send you down. If nothing else, it'll tell the YT algorithm to feed you some occasional comic relief. 🙃

"your taxes aren't going to falsify themselves" 🤣🤣🤣

Your girl is arts-and-crafting some serious voodoo dolls (or effigies, because I'm not trying to culturally appropriate). I consider it a community service, kinda like burning down Tesla dealerships. I'm sure my clients wish I were spending my time differently, but here we are 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gems of snarky encouragement here, Ms. Wilding! But just checking this sentence: "No wonder they ‘ostrich’ their problems away by sticking their heads in the sane." Freudian slip or intentional? As for me, I'd quite like to find some sane to stick my head in.

Yes, Freudian slip 😆😆 I'm correcting it (thanks for catching that Jan!!) even though now I kinda like it.

Politics is so messy. Just yesterday I experienced how it can end marriages and friendships lol. One simple (funny) comment in a liberal Facebook group and everyone wanted to argue with me 🤣🤣 I was like whoa, I didn't come here to have a discussion! I was just being funny!!! Back TF off!!

I hear what really annoys the Tesla drivers isn't the middle finger. Because then they can see themselves as righteous victims.

It's a thumbs down. Preferably with your mom's "I'm so disappointed with you" face.

Pointing and laughing is also great. Especially if you can get some children to do it with you. Out of the mouths of babes and all that. A lot of them think Swasticars look stupid and they aren't afraid to say it.

I get that. But...personally, I'm giving Tesla drivers the benefit of the doubt. When most of them bought their cars, Elon wasn't Eloning yet and they were trying to buy an eco-friendly car.

That's because you do not live near Silicon Valley, where the techbros and wannabees have been driving like assholes for the entire time. Plus every few months he had to settle some lawsuit for being racist and sexist, which of course was always on the news. Especially racist ofc.

Also, the giant fugly Swasticars, excuse me Wankpanzers, came out after he was all in for Drumpf, so they've no excuse. Those fascist chucklefucks deserve all the insults they get and more.

'The Swedish even have a name for crying while masturbating — it’s called “gråtrunka”.'

Baaahaaaa We have GOT to get a government and culture like Sweden. Or any Scandinavian country. They have their shit together. Full disclosure, I have Norwegian ancestors. Still, wouldn't it be cool to have every student in the country take media literacy classes each year, like Finland. That might help people distinguish truth from lies. A trait we in the US have not mastered. Thanks for the giggles, Robin. Myself, I live in Nevada. Even us liberals are practicing at the shooting range. Sadly, that is a useful exercise too.

The Scandinavians really do have their shit together. Let's hope America can be like them when it grows up 😆. That media literacy from Finland is pretty awesome.

Excellent suggestions! But, what do you you think that Canadians and Greenlanders should be doing to prepare for the immenent hostile government takeover. Feels like we'll be fighting the nukes with slingshots, which is a tad anxiety producing! 🇨🇦♥️🇺🇸

As dumb as he is, I don't think he's actually dumb enough to go to war with Canada or Greenland. Declaring war on a NATO country is just a bad idea, but add to that lack of support from your own people and that war isn't going to go well.
