I have a theory that nobody really likes stinky-foot cheese, they just eat it to prove they’re sophisticated. But I’m probably wrong—I’m sure that’s true for some people, but I have enough weird tastes myself to know that there’s no accounting for them.

I once bought some cheese that sounded interesting from the description, and discovered it was several turns around the bend beyond rank. Ugh. What to do with it. Then I saw my dog looking at me. He loved it, but considering some of the things he liked to eat, it kind of proves my point!

haha, I definitely think there are people who buy fancy cheeses only when other people come over. I do like the stinky cheeses (I don't buy them when people come over, I keep it for myself cuz it's expensive 😆).

Agreed that a dog liking it isn't a bar for deliciousness. My dog just spent four minutes licking her own butthole.

I kind of know what you mean because I wil never again eat anything to do with goats (milk, cheese, meat). But, I wouldn't pretend to like them. I call those people sophistic*nts.

Robin Wilding's avatar

😆😆 Sophisticunts

As I listened to this, I was shovelling spoonfuls of this mold-encrusted raw goat cheese I bought at the farmers market into my mouth. 😆🤣

😆😆 Ooh I love goat cheese. Also I just put blue cheese on my burger last night.

All true! I must read the kissing one to BF when he wakes up. The grass; I was told a great story about that. This man’s best friend since college is from Ethiopia. The friend was on the phone to his dad in Ethiopia, and complained about the cost of lawn maintenance. He had to explain that one to dad. So let me get this straight, says dad: You clear away the plants that grew in your yard, buy grass seed, pour good drinking water on it abundantly, use expensive fertilizers and pesticides to keep it alive, and continually cut it off, but never with the intent of eating it or feeding livestock???

Yes, completely illogical idiocy, IMHO. 🤦🏻💁🏻

Robin Wilding's avatar

😆😆😆 Omg that explanation is phenomenal.

Cheri Collins's avatar

Yes, I certainly thought so, when the guy told me!

And as we sit in front of our decorated tree corpses, we eat candy. Out of our socks.

😆😆 Great addition.

I looove milk and milk by-products. Cheesecake, ice cream with cream and real chunks of fruit, Greek yoghurt ... Yet, no casu marzu or casgiu merzu, please!

As for my playing dress up, well, considering my line of work, if I appeared in a tuxedo, a ball gown or in a tutu with a snorkel, my patients would run off in a stampede!

The other strange life happenings, none of them!

Robin Wilding's avatar

Yeah dressing up for your job would be challenging and your clientele wouldn't even appreciate it.

I hadn't heard of those cheeses so I googled casu marzu...it's made with live fly maggots. Listen, I eat some weird shit, but I think even I would pass on that 😆

Rosa Maria's avatar

Precisely! The strongest I accept is Gorgonzola. Luckily, due to their "live" content, casu and casgiu are forbidden for export.

Humanity’s greatest talent may be inventing absurd rituals, forgetting we invented them, then judging anyone who performs them differently. We dress up to prove competence, commute to prove employment, manicure grass to prove civilization, and argue over whose invisible authority approves. Meanwhile, the octopus punches a fish, the wombat produces a cube, and neither one starts a podcast explaining why its lifestyle is morally superior.

Robin Wilding's avatar

Yuppers. We're strange.

Another laugh out loud essay!

Choose to read you before the stuff that makes my eyes leak.

Robin Wilding's avatar

Thanks Kelly.

Although if it were me, I'd read me after the eye-leaky stuff.

So many of us decorate evergreen tree corpses (the specific type) for Christmas that farms exist specifically to grow and sell them for the event.

Robin Wilding's avatar

😆 Thanks for the addition, that's another weird truth.

Cheri Collins's avatar

Goes along with the lawn nonsense!

We are a bizarre fucking species, that’s for sure. Here in northern New Mexico, our “lawns” consist of 3/4” gravel chunks and anything green coming up between them is yanked out with a vengeance. Also, all my neckties have been banished to the BDSM supply closet.

Robin Wilding's avatar

😆😆 The BDSM supply closet is surely the best use for them.

The eyes of course are not the only places we leak from to show emotion. In fact, every pore and orifice we have is emotionally reactive except our ears.

The most cynical graffiti I ever saw said, “Kissing is like sucking on a long straw with shit at the other end.” I guess rimming is just cutting out the middle man.

Robin Wilding's avatar

😆😆😆 I'm putting that in my notes of 'funny shit'

You’re crazy and like I said, I like that because I’m crazy too! That crazies have to stick together! So keep the good work coming because it cracks me up!!

Robin Wilding's avatar

Absolutely, the crazies need to stick together, we have more fun.

And thanks Lori :)
